Press Application Guidelines

All Press Applicants

Credentials for approving someone as a valid press member are a business card, a letter of introduction & official request on the letterhead of their publication. Add this to the below specific requirements for various media types
Print Media: Please send two samples of your publication
Freelance Press: If you are a freelance writer, journalist, or photographer, please send copies of your work

Student Press If you are a student covering FT for your school or university, please send us copies of your publication. Also, submit a letter from your supervising teacher or editor, preferably on school/university letterhead, stating that you are covering FT on assignment.

Web-based Press & Bloggers/Podcasters Provide an URL for their publication, provide a live link to your statistics page or clearly legible & recent screenshots of your statistics page & provide a link to your website.

Broadcast Media If you are a broadcast journalist or photographer, please include a letter from a producer/editor on company letterhead stating that you are covering FT on assignment. Please see the requirements below if you plan to film.
Film & Video If you are filming, submit a demo reel, a list of completed projects, & make sure to state the purpose of the filming in your official request. You MUST have prior approval and additional signed agreements with FT if you are filming or taking video for any other reason than broadcasting.
As a professional courtesy, we also request (though do not require) a copy of the printed report in said publication when it is released for archival purposes. Any press registration disputes or concerns should be brought to the Press Department Head (press@project2011) immediately. Any questions regarding the operation of the Press Department maybe directed to the Press Department Head or their second.

Limitations on Press Access
Certain guests may restrict photography or recording during their appearances. These restrictions extend to members of the press, unless otherwise stated or agreed to PRIOR to the event in writing by the performer. We will communicate restrictions like these as soon as we become aware of them. If you wish to photograph or record a concert, for example, normally this must be negotiated with the label or artist. FT Central's right to record for archival does not extend to non-staff photography and videography, and often due to our contract with an artist we cannot provide copies.

Press membership does not qualify one for preferential treatment at autograph/sketch sessions, or at any event over the course of the convention. Limited reserved seating as it is made available at various events (see Reserved Seating Policy below).

Press sessions will be made for various convention guests, a list will be made available at the convention, please check the Press Room.
Press badges will only be available for pick up in the Press Room.

ABUSE OF PRESS PRIVILEGES

If abuse of press privileges is reported to the Press Department, such behavior is grounds for having press membership revoked. Please conduct yourself responsibly at all times. If a publication feels that their membership is revoked unjustly, they may discuss it with the Press Department Head.

Revocation of a membership is a last resort, and the Press Department will do all they can to be certain that members of the press understand why such actions are necessary and how to avoid them. However, if it is deemed necessary, please do not hesitate to ask if there is some part of these policies you do not understand. Press members may discuss any questions/disputes regarding these policies with the Press Department Head and/or their second in charge. If, for some reason a press member feels that they are not receiving a satisfactory response/solution to their concern, they may contact the Marketing Operations Section Chief or any of the Convention Officers.

Reserved Seating Policy
FT events are the highlight of the convention. The masquerade will have limited seating, and press members who do not register in advance for this event will forfeit the opportunity to have reserved seating. Depending on the event, locations will be available for the setup of tri-pods and cameras. This area is subject to availability, and such space is given solely at the discretion of the Room Supervisor. Reserved press seating is provided as a courtesy, and press members are required to follow the guidelines set by FT Programming Staff per each event.

Please note: we at FT reserve the right to modify our rules at any time without prior notice, and submission of a request does not guarantee a Press pass. If you are granted Press access to the event, please be ready to identify yourself at the convention with a valid I.D.

A badge is issued to all the staff and media team to provides admission to project 2011(P2011); it does not provide any "backstage" or otherwise privileged access to the convention.

The below rules are Project 2011's padge policy.

This policy is subject to change.

If you lose your badge, you will have to pay a $50.00 fee to replace your badge. No exceptions.
P2011 badges are non-transferable. If you pay for another badge, you will not be compensated or refunded for that second badge.
