Press Registration
Thank you so much for expressing interest in project 2011.
In females we trust welcomes all members of the media who are involved in the entertainment industry. Press members, independent contractors or professionals.
Requirements for registration are now posted below and you may apply for press registration through our online form.
Please allow at least 5 business days for your application to be processed. You must submit your online application by June 10, 2010. On-site registration can be approved or denied at the discretion of the SPJA.
Press Pre-Registration Requirements
In order to be considered “Press” and to receive complimentary entrance to this year’s convention, individuals will need to fulfill the following requirements:
1. Active employment; with a major media company that is recognized as a print publication. (i.e. magazine, newspapers, etc.), radio, television/cable/affiliate station/program, newscast and/or online magazine.
1: Writers/Reporters from high school and university level publications are encouraged to apply as well. However, in these cases we kindly request that you provide us with a letter of intent signed by you and your editor-in-chief/advisor on official school letterhead. Please also note that we will not be able to provide Press Badges for them. Chaperones are welcome to enjoy the convention by registering through the registration process for the general public. Please register any chaperones through the general public registration located in the South Hall Lobby.
2: We kindly request that cosplay-related media outlets present a detailed proposal on the coverage they plan to do at Project 2011. Taking photos of the cosplayers who attend the convention can be done quite readily without the need of a Press Badge; therefore we reserve the right to deny applications of that nature.
2. Business card with stated company name, individual name and contact information (we apologize if this may be inconvenient, but we can not accept business cards without printed contact names due to the possibility of illegal replications) or a recent company pay-stub.
3. Valid picture ID.
4. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
Note: Companies receiving a complimentary pass will be limited to five (5) passes only. Additional passes can be purchased at the event, or in advanced, for a discounted rate of $10/day. All additional passes are still subject to the convention review process.
Individuals who wish to apply for “Press” admission should fill out the Online Press Pre-Registration Form. Those who have submitted an application for “Press” registration will receive a confirmation of receipt of application via e-mail, and if approved, will then received an “Approved Press” e-mail in addition to being placed on the “Press” admission list. Please note that those who have obtained approval for “Press” admission will still be required to provide their official business card and valid ID.
Individuals who chose to register at the convention will also be required to provide the items mentioned in points 2 and 3 above. Due to the fact that we will not have all of our resources available at the convention, please be aware that information that cannot be verified on the spot may result in the denial of the Press Badge.
REMINDER: Please bring a valid form of picture identification i.e. driver’s license, and your business card. If you don’t have a business card, please bring a recent paycheck stub.
You must submit your online application by June 10, 2010.
Our apologies, but all requests for non-press guest passes will be denied due to the high number of press attendees this year. Please register your guests through the general public registration located in the South Hall Lobby.
*Project 2011 reserves the right to refuse media badges without reason, during the pre-registration and on-site media registration process.
Press Check-in Information
Those who have been approved as Press prior to the convention will be able to obtain their Press Badges and packets at the registration table outside of room 309; on the 3rd floor above the Compass café at the following times:
